A workout at a spa? Core Fusion Extreme at Exhale Spa

logoA few weeks ago I was invited to attend the Core Fusion Extreme class at Exhale Spa.  With such an intense name, I knew I was going to like this one.

If you aren’t familiar with Exhale Spa, the place is a one-stop-shop for so many of my favorite things.  They have some great fitness classes and they are a spa so you can go for a sweat sesh followed by a massage and facial if you want.

Sign. Me. Up.  I could spend hours there.

lsThe Core Fusion Extreme class is new for them and it is set up like a high intensity interval class.  Our class was structured with 5 different stations.  At each station you do 2 different exercises.  The exercises were anything from box jumps, push ups, TRX pull-ups, squats, tricep dips, and so many other moves that I’m not even sure how to describe.  You are at each station for a few minutes and just do as many sets as you can.

The instructor was full of energy and she really got the class pumped up before it even began.  An instructor can really make or break a class so it was great that she set a positive tone from the beginning.  I also really liked how she explained the moves and as a group we practiced each one before starting the stations.  I think it made everyone feel much more comfortable with what they were doing.

When class began I really started going hard.  I wanted to give it my all and by the time I was at the last station, sweat was just pouring out of me.  It’s a good thing we had towels!  I wasn’t the only one though.  They had other “coaches” in the room in case you had questions and the instructor was helping someone else.  Well those coaches also ended up wiping up sweat off the floor during this class.

I know, kind of gross.

But it was that intense.

So the big question – did I get a good workout?  Absolutely.  I was just the right amount of sore the next day and could tell that if I do this frequently, it will help change my body.  For the better!

As most high intensity interval training classes do, it provided a great mix of moves.  We worked on our arms, core, legs, and even got in some cardio.  There were exercises that were familiar and then new ones I hadn’t done before.

I really like that Exhale Spa is offering a variety of workouts now.  There are many other classes to choose from there and I will definitely be back.

But next time, I will be sure to treat myself to a massage after.

I want to encourage you to follow along in my health journey through what I learn and experience. I hope there is something you can take away from Fit Busy Female that inspires you to start taking control of your health and feeling better every day.
