Early morning summer runs are here!

Summer is really here! I think I’m still stuck in the Chicago mindset where summer is sort of a tease still. You get these great, beautiful days but then a few cold days suddenly strike. I remember wearing a coat one year in June. You never really know when the summer temps are there to stay. But I’m happy to say that here in Nashville, they are indeed here to stay. And I’m so excited! Summer is my favorite time…

How I plan to teach my children about health and fitness

I am 11 years older than my “little” sister. I put little in quotes because she’s actually not little at all, she’s about 3 inches taller than me but you know, it’s that whole she’ll-always-be-little-to-me thing. Because of this though, I remember so many things from her childhood. The other day I was thinking about how I want to raise my own daughter to be healthy and take care of her body when I remembered a conversation my sister had…

Sticking to your fitness routine when traveling

Last week, I traveled to Burlington, Vermont for work. I never thought I would visit Vermont simply because I don’t know anyone there and it’s also not on the way to places I would typically go. My laptop decided to stop working as I was leaving and my flight ended up being really delayed so…

Daycare: First month and tips

I wanted to write this post for the other mom’s out there who are handing their kids over to daycare during the day. Not that I don’t share love for the stay at home moms, because I do! It’s just that I now know this particular struggle and I felt like writing about it. The truth about it. I have always wanted this blog to be about all different aspects of my life and sometimes that includes the struggles too….

Mother’s Day 2015

I had such a great Mother’s Day yesterday. It was just such a good day to spend with my family and I really, really enjoyed it. Plus, I discovered some new spots in Nashville, possibly the best brunch I have ever had, and found out my little girl is going to be quite the water baby. Brett and Ady woke me up with a cute little card. Ady was holding it in her hand waving it at me. It had…

Quick/Healthy Breakfast Idea

Since I’ve become a full time working mom now, I have realized I need to be a lot more efficient and I need simple, quick recipes to make sure I actually get to eat. Breakfast is such an important meal and to me, it makes a difference in my whole day. I just have to eat breakfast or I have zero energy… and I’m not such a nice person either! So I realized I need something quick that I can…
