Throwback Cocktails at Public Hotel

I recently became a part of the Windy City Bloggers Collective and it has been a blast so far.  Along with many other events, we usually have a monthly Happy Hour hosted by a bar/restaurant in the city.  A time for some of the best bloggers in Chicago to come together and enjoy drinks, chat, make new friends, and of course try some of the best places our city has to offer. Last night, our Happy Hour was hosted by…

Ditch the treadmill and… Sproing!

Should we ditch the treadmill? Well that depends… have you sproinged yet?  That reaction you just had?  I had it too when I first heard of this. What is Sproing you ask?  It looks a little something like this: At least that’s what the machine/contraption is.  I was able to try this out thanks to Sproing and another Chicago blogger, Lake Shore Runner, who set up the event (thank you – such a fun time!).  As usual when I’m trying…

Healthy Meal Delivery? Yes, Please.

Life is a little nuts right now and crazy busy. Time management is something I have become very good at and it’s all about prioritizing what needs to be done.  It’s also about outsourcing and finding little things to make life easier. When it’s Okay to skip that Workout

The other week, I was on a roll with everything going on at the moment.  I had dinners prepared almost every night, had worked out almost every day, done chores around the house, done some stuff for my blog, and gotten some sleep (as much as you can get with a 4 month old). Then… my husband got sick and my daughter decided she wanted to wake up every couple of hours to eat at night.  For a week.  So…

A lesson from my return to HIIT classes

My first workout class since having a baby was a little nerve wracking.  Will I make it?  Am I going to embarrass myself?  Will I pass out?  Will I puke?  In front of everyone? These were all thoughts in my head as I drove to a class nearby to give my first attempt at an HIIT class post baby. (HIIT – High Intensity Interval Training) I took a lot of these classes before having a baby and they were tough. …

When I quit my job – without a plan

Planning.  I am all about it.  I am a planner and I like knowing what’s going to happen.  My husband isn’t a planner at all so this actually works for us.  I take care of our calendar, the household things we need to plan, events, and I’m happy to. But what happens when you’re planning goes WAY off course?  When the things you always thought would happen a certain way… don’t?  And when you suddenly feel lost and question a…
