Buying a Treadmill for your Home

For a really long time, I have wanted my own treadmill.  Like a really long time.  Just ask my husband.  He’s heard about it… a lot.

So when we left our condo in the city and moved into a house, I knew this was my chance to get one!  The only problem was that I didn’t know what to get.  So I began my research.  I thought it might be helpful to write about what I found along the way and what I ended up purchasing.

I did some research online of course and found a few different treadmills that seemed to get good reviews.  Then I also visited a store here in the Nashville area that specializes in selling home gym equipment.  The person I spoke to was really helpful and after learning more about what I was going to use it for (how long I would run, how often, etc.), he suggested a Landice.

I was able to try this model out in the store and it is a really nice treadmill.  They are made to order and you can pretty much customize it however you want.  But, this comes with a hefty price tag.  Of $4,000.  The warranties on it are apparently incredible and it’s built to last.  So if you break down the use of it and how long you would have it, it could be a great option for some people.  I loved the treadmill but at the end of the day, I just couldn’t justify the price.  We just bought a house, had to buy a second car, and a lot of furniture.  It just wasn’t in the budget right now.  But I encourage anyone who wants to buy a home treadmill to look into them if your budget allows.

So I continued my research online and kept coming across some really good reviews on a Sole treadmill.  After checking out their website and reviews, I decided to go with this one.  They have a few different models depending on your price range and I got the F80 model.

It took about a week and a half to deliver (a loooong week and a half).  Once it arrived, I was like a young child on Christmas morning!  I couldn’t wait to get it out.  Brett was out of town for work so I was going to wait for him to return so he could put it together.  But I got way too antsy and decided to put it together myself.  You can’t say I’m not determined!

After 3.5 hours, some tears, some blood (seriously), and a lot of sweat, I had a beautiful new treadmill!  The directions to put together the machine were not the best.  I personally felt as if there were too many steps thrown together in one.  But I found some YouTube videos that were really helpful.  I used those to put it together.

I have had it for a couple weeks now and so far, I love it.  The treadmill feels really good and has some nice features to it as well.  I LOVE being able to run at home while my daughter is sleeping or really early in the morning before anyone wakes up.  I don’t have to get in the car and go to a gym, it’s just right there.

If you are short on time and looking to stay in shape, I really think a treadmill is a great piece of equipment to have.  It’s not cheap and it does take up a substantial amount of room (we currently have ours in our 3rd garage spot).  But most of the time staying committed to working out is about convenience.  The more accessible a gym, treadmill, and workout equipment is, the more likely you are to actually use it.

I want to encourage you to follow along in my health journey through what I learn and experience. I hope there is something you can take away from Fit Busy Female that inspires you to start taking control of your health and feeling better every day.
