Breastfeeding, Milk Supply, and Running

Since I talked about breastfeeding in my last blog, I figured I should cover another topic about the subject.  And it’s something I have been asked about. Running and breastfeeding. I was initially concerned that once I started running and working out again my milk supply would decrease dramatically.  A lot of your supply depends on calories.  I would be burning a lot more calories so I wasn’t sure what this would do.  I had read that sometimes it can…

That feeling of “I’m back”

Have you seen that Friends episode where Phoebe wants to go running with Rachel and Rachel is embarrassed because Phoebe runs really awkward and all over the place?  That’s how I felt when I first starting running again after having my baby.  I felt like people were looking at me like I was a crazy person running by.  Everything felt loose and weird.  It was like I was in a completely different person’s body. A Ranking of my Favorite Races

I love running races and have been fortunate enough to run quite a few!  I have run a variety of distances and at different times of the year.  Most of my races have been in Chicago though since I live here.  My goal is start doing more races in different cities.  I think it’s a great way to go explore a new place! Half Marathon Training Plan

I’m getting pumped up for starting a new training plan soon!  Only a few more weeks and I can begin training for a new half marathon I plan to run. In my last post, I talked about how I’m going to prepare for the training.  Now, I want to share my training plan. Here are the training plans I created per month up until the race. My Next Race

(One of my dearest friends, Christy, and me crossing the finish line of my first marathon! She got me through the end!) I love making fitness goals for myself and I also love a good challenge.  I thrive on it. One of the things I missed most during pregnancy was running races.  I ran throughout my entire pregnancy but it doesn’t compare to running a race.  I love the adrenaline rush I get before it, the crowd, the camaraderie…
