What Happened When I Didn’t Weight Myself for a Month

(Image via Goodhousekeeping.com) A lot of people question whether or not to weigh themselves regularly.  Some people believe that you should know what your weight is all the time while others believe you should just trust how your clothes feel and go based on that.  I’ve heard some people even throw out their scales.  As I usually believe with most things in life, I think moderation is key so I’m somewhere in the middle. I definitely think that you should…

Moving cities: Lessons Learned!

As I mentioned in a previous blog, we have made a big change in our lives and moved from Chicago to Nashville.  I am still mourning the big city and getting used to a more suburban lifestyle… it’s going to take more time than I realized but I will get there. During this whole moving chaos (truly CHAOS), I have learned a thing or two that I thought I would share.  Some of this you might already know and some…

New favorite drink: discount included!

Hydration is such a huge part of living a healthy lifestyle.  It’s a necessary component to staying healthy, fueling a workout before and after, and helping you feel (and work) your best. My husband and…

Training for my 4th marathon begins

Marathon Training Has Begun I have signed up to run the Country Music Marathon in Nashville on April 25th.  I’m not sure how sleep deprived I was or if someone slipped something in my coffee that morning, but on a whim, I just decided to sign up and go for it. I ran this same marathon in 2013 and it was definitely the worst weather conditions I have ever run in. It was also my husband’s first marathon.  It was…

What I’ve been cooking up lately: Baby food!

There are numerous things I looked forward to when I found out I was pregnant.  And with my beliefs on food, one of them was being able to make homemade baby food.  I hate that there are so many chemicals and crazy things in our food so I want to start my daughter’s life in a healthy way.  Knowing that I’m making the food means I know exactly what’s in there. I enjoy cooking sometimes but I wouldn’t call myself…
