Another type of barre experience: Flybarre

I have been loving the barre classes lately as I’m sure you learned from my last post.  They are such a great exercise to incorporate into my running.  And as I mentioned, they are all so different so don’t get discouraged if you try one barre class and don’t like it.  Keep trying them and I’m sure you will find one you enjoy! The most recent one I tried was Flybarre.  You might have heard of Flywheel which I actually…

Not all barre is created equal

I have wanted to try barre classes for a long time.  I was a dancer growing up (primarily ballet to be exact) and just the mention of “barre” made me a little giddy again.  Although my point shoes and tutu were long ago retired I figured I just had to try this out and see what it was like. I am glad I tried out so many different barre studios because as the title of this post points out: not…

Check-In: Six Months Post Baby

Six months.  Our little girl is already 6 months old.  I can’t believe it.  It seems like it’s gone so fast but at the same time, so slow. The Lies of Social Media

“How do they do it?”  I asked my husband this the other day and I received a blank stare.  (Men.)  “How are these moms with a baby, or even more than one child, looking like they just stepped out of a magazine?!”  If I get to brush my teeth in the morning I feel like I conquered the world. I was getting really down about seeing these other moms on Facebook who had the perfect curled hair, full makeup on,…

Got 20 minutes? Try this Hills and Sprints Treadmill workout!

It’s that time of year where as winter settles in we spend more time indoors and of course, on the treadmill.  While I am willing to run in fairly cold weather, I draw the line below 30 degrees.  It’s just not fun. So the other day I headed to the gym determined to get a good workout.  I had limited time but wanted something that would keep me interested, challenge me, and make the time go fast. I came up…

A workout at a spa? Core Fusion Extreme at Exhale Spa

A few weeks ago I was invited to attend the Core Fusion Extreme class at Exhale Spa.  With such an intense name, I knew I was going to like this one. If you aren’t familiar with Exhale Spa, the place is a one-stop-shop for so many of my favorite things.  They have some great fitness classes and they are a spa so you can go for a sweat sesh followed by a massage and facial if you want. Sign. Me….
