Half Marathon Training Plan

I’m getting pumped up for starting a new training plan soon!  Only a few more weeks and I can begin training for a new half marathon I plan to run. In my last post, I talked about how I’m going to prepare for the training.  Now, I want to share my training plan. Here are the training plans I created per month up until the race. My Next Race

(One of my dearest friends, Christy, and me crossing the finish line of my first marathon! She got me through the end!) I love making fitness goals for myself and I also love a good challenge.  I thrive on it. One of the things I missed most during pregnancy was running races.  I ran throughout my entire pregnancy but it doesn’t compare to running a race.  I love the adrenaline rush I get before it, the crowd, the camaraderie…

Post Pregnancy: Getting Your Core Back

After having a baby, one of the things hit hardest on your body is your core.  You have gained a lot of weight in your stomach, can’t really do crunches since you cannot lie flat on your back during pregnancy, and your center of gravity has been way off.  Your core suffers unfortunately.  And since your core is so important for all other forms of exercise and daily activities, it’s important to focus on getting that part of your body…

If you live in Chicago, then you know how busy the lakefront path can get when it’s warm outside.  The lakefront is…

Running in the Third Trimester

Isn’t pregnancy so fun?  You get to eat whatever you want and be lazy!  Oh wait…  I have heard so many people say this to me and the fact is – you absolutely can’t do that, and shouldn’t.  The reality is that you are supposed to have 300 extra calories a day.  Starting in the 2nd trimester.  That’s really not that much.  You can easily get 300 calories in two granola bars.  Or some toast with peanut butter.  It’s not…

25 Week Update

It’s kind of hard to believe that I’m already 25 weeks!  It seems like I’ve been pregnant for quite awhile but when I realize I am already at the 25 week mark with only 15 weeks to go I just can’t believe it.  Although, I think it will only get more difficult and uncomfortable as time goes on… But for now, I am feeling pretty good!  I really can’t complain too much.  I feel lucky that I have had such…
