I am now a Brick Betty Fit Professional!

I have been wearing workout clothes on a regular basis for over 10 years now. Not only do I work out in them, I wear them on a regular basis to run errands, travel, hang out around the house, play with my child, etc. And why not? They are comfortable and thankfully, these clothes are actually becoming cuter and quite stylish! For their intended purpose though, workout clothes should really be of great quality. I realize a lot of people…

Review: Orangetheory Fitness

(Logo from Orangetheory Fitness website.) Since I moved to Nashville, I have been searching for gyms that have similar workouts to the ones I fell in love with in Chicago (hence my last post). I really love the high intensity interval training (HIIT) classes and began a search immediately when we moved here. I stumbled upon Orange Theory Fitness and decided to try it out. They have quite a few locations throughout the country and 2 locations specifically that are…

Early morning summer runs are here!

Summer is really here! I think I’m still stuck in the Chicago mindset where summer is sort of a tease still. You get these great, beautiful days but then a few cold days suddenly strike. Sticking to your fitness routine when traveling

Last week, I traveled to Burlington, Vermont for work. I never thought I would visit Vermont simply because I don’t know anyone there and it’s also not on the way to places I would typically go. However, that is the region I do work for so I found myself there! I had a little bit of a chaotic day getting there. My laptop decided to stop working as I was leaving and my flight ended up being really delayed so…

Country Music Half Marathon 2015: Race Recap

So I have to admit how nervous I really was for the half marathon I just ran last weekend. It’s silly, I know, because it’s not like I was going to win the race. I wish! But it was a big deal to me. It was my first race after having my daughter (10 months after to be exact) and I had no idea how I was going to do. My current PR is around 1:45 so I decided to…

New favorite drink: discount included!

Hydration is such a huge part of living a healthy lifestyle.  It’s a necessary component to staying healthy, fueling a workout before and after, and helping you feel (and work) your best. I get asked about hydration a lot.  Friends of mine don’t know what they should be drinking before, during, and after workouts.  I also hear many people complain that water is boring.  While I don’t agree with that necessarily, I can understand where they are coming from. There…
