New favorite drink: discount included!

Hydration is such a huge part of living a healthy lifestyle.  It’s a necessary component to staying healthy, fueling a workout before and after, and helping you feel (and work) your best. I get asked about hydration a lot.  Friends of mine don’t know what they should be drinking before, during, and after workouts.  I also hear many people complain that water is boring.  While I don’t agree with that necessarily, I can understand where they are coming from. There…

What I’ve been cooking up lately: Baby food!

There are numerous things I looked forward to when I found out I was pregnant.  And with my beliefs on food, one of them was being able to make homemade baby food.  I hate that there are so many chemicals and crazy things in our food so I want to start my daughter’s life in a healthy way.  Knowing that I’m making the food means I know exactly what’s in there. Another type of barre experience: Flybarre

I have been loving the barre classes lately as I’m sure you learned from my last post.  They are such a great exercise to incorporate into my running.  And as I mentioned, they are all so different so don’t get discouraged if you try one barre class and don’t like it.  Keep trying them and I’m sure you will find one you enjoy! The most recent one I tried was Flybarre.  You might have heard of Flywheel which I actually…

Not all barre is created equal

I have wanted to try barre classes for a long time.  I was a dancer growing up (primarily ballet to be exact) and just the mention of “barre” made me a little giddy again.  Although my point shoes and tutu were long ago retired I figured I just had to try this out and see what it was like. I am glad I tried out so many different barre studios because as the title of this post points out: not…

Check-In: Six Months Post Baby

Six months.  Our little girl is already 6 months old.  I can’t believe it.  It seems like it’s gone so fast but at the same time, so slow. If you would have asked me 6 months ago where I thought I would be at this point, it’s pretty laughable.  I would tell you that my baby would be completely sleeping through the night, I would be fitting back in my favorite pair of jeans, and would have being Super Mom…

A workout at a spa? Core Fusion Extreme at Exhale Spa

A few weeks ago I was invited to attend the Core Fusion Extreme class at Exhale Spa.  With such an intense name, I knew I was going to like this one. If you aren’t familiar with Exhale Spa, the place is a one-stop-shop for so many of my favorite things.  They have some great fitness classes and they are a spa so you can go for a sweat sesh followed by a massage and facial if you want. Sign. Me….
