New Routine: How I’m fitting in my workouts

It’s a new routine, new beginnings, and a whole lot of chaos. I recently started a new job that I’m really excited about! As if we haven’t had enough change in our household lately with our move, buying a house, my husband starting a new job, and taking care of our little girl! I’m in my second week and it’s funny that I actually feel more organized now that I’m back at work and not staying at home with Ady….

The Marathon That Won’t Happen

I signed up to run the full marathon in Nashville quite awhile ago. I was all pumped up about it, had my training plan ready to go, and was focused. Then… life happened. (Also, a reason I haven’t posted as much!) I wanted to share my journey of returning to run a marathon after pregnancy, all about my training runs, and how I was doing. But the truth is, life just got crazy. We moved (which was a lot more…

Buying a Treadmill for your Home

For a really long time, I have wanted my own treadmill.  Like a really long time.  Just ask my husband.  He’s heard about it… a lot. So when we left our condo in the city and moved into a house, I knew this was my chance to get one!  The only problem was that I didn’t know what to get.  So I began my research.  I thought it might be helpful to write about what I found along the way…

New favorite drink: discount included!

Hydration is such a huge part of living a healthy lifestyle.  It’s a necessary component to staying healthy, fueling a workout before and after, and helping you feel (and work) your best. I get asked about hydration a lot.  Friends of mine don’t know what they should be drinking before, during, and after workouts.  I also hear many people complain that water is boring.  While I don’t agree with that necessarily, I can understand where they are coming from. There…

Training for my 4th marathon begins

Marathon Training Has Begun I have signed up to run the Country Music Marathon in Nashville on April 25th.  I’m not sure how sleep deprived I was or if someone slipped something in my coffee that morning, but on a whim, I just decided to sign up and go for it. I ran this same marathon in 2013 and it was definitely the worst weather conditions I have ever run in. It was also my husband’s first marathon.  It was…

Got 20 minutes? Try this Hills and Sprints Treadmill workout!

It’s that time of year where as winter settles in we spend more time indoors and of course, on the treadmill.  While I am willing to run in fairly cold weather, I draw the line below 30 degrees.  It’s just not fun. So the other day I headed to the gym determined to get a good workout.  I had limited time but wanted something that would keep me interested, challenge me, and make the time go fast. I came up…
