Buying a Treadmill for your Home

For a really long time, I have wanted my own treadmill.  Like a really long time.  Just ask my husband.  He’s heard about it… a lot. So when we left our condo in the city and moved into a house, I knew this was my chance to get one!  The only problem was that I didn’t know what to get.  So I began my research.  I thought it might be helpful to write about what I found along the way…

Training for my 4th marathon begins

Marathon Training Has Begun I have signed up to run the Country Music Marathon in Nashville on April 25th.  I’m not sure how sleep deprived I was or if someone slipped something in my coffee that morning, but on a whim, I just decided to sign up and go for it. Should we ditch the treadmill? Well that depends… have you sproinged yet?  That reaction you just had?  I had it too when I first heard of this. What is Sproing you ask?  It looks a little something like this: At least that’s what the machine/contraption is.  I was able to try this out thanks to Sproing and another Chicago blogger, Lake Shore Runner, who set up the event (thank you – such a fun time!).  As usual when I’m trying…

Reasons why you shouldn’t hate (and should maybe love) the “dreadmill”

Okay, I get it.  Running outside, for most people, is the more enjoyable way to go.  I’ve heard it all about the dreaded treadmill (hence dreadmill).  You are stuck in one place, it’s boring, there’s no change, etc.  And I agree.  To a point. I LOVE running outside.  I live in Chicago and of all places, this is one of the BEST to go for a run.  There’s nothing like it. But life gets in the way a lot of…
